The Word as Explained by the Gospel of John

John was a cousin, apostle, and intimate friend of Jesus Christ. He referred to himself as "the disciple whom Jesus loved." John personally knew Jesus more than the other apostles did, aside from Peter. He no doubt had many intimate discussions with Jesus Christ as to who he was. John opened his Gospel account with the words, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made."--King James Version.

Most people would not know the following because they would assume they are being told the truth by those who they trust to know. The Apostle John wrote his gospel in Aramaic and the common Greek. Koine Greek did not have an indefinite article, such as "a" is used in English, only the definite article "the". At John 1:1, the definite article is used by John in the phrase "the Word was with God", Greek "ho Theos", but the definite article 'ho" is not used in the phrase "the Word was God", in reference to the word God.

To understand why John omitted the definite article before the word god when referring to the Word, you must read the contents of his whole book to get a clear understanding of his opening words, its true meaning, and its grammar, and therefore, its proper translation. John knowingly made a distinction in identifying the God and the Word and their relationship to one another based on what her learned from Jesus. At John 14:28, Jesus said, "The Father is greater than I." By his own admission, Jesus made it clear he is not equal to the Father, but lesser or subordinate to his Father. Therefore, Jesus cannot be the Almighty God. Therefore, it would be proper to translate John's phrase to English with the indefinite article to read as, "The Word was a god."

There are numerous other texts in John's book, whereby his own statements, Jesus makes it clear he is not God, but God's son. "Do you say to me whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am God's Son'?"(John 10:36) His Father is the Almighty, his Father is the God, and the Word is the Almighty's son. When the Word was in heaven before his Father sent him to earth, he listened to his Father and was taught by his Father what to say. “Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things."(John 8:28) Since when does God need to be taught anything or be taught by anyone? Yet, Jesus, the Word, says his Father taught him what to speak. "For I have not spoken of my own initiative, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment about what to say and what to speak." (John 12:49) "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” (John 1:18)

The Word, who became Jesus Christ, was the first of God's creations, "the first born of every creature" as stated at Colossians 1:15. Jesus is God's "only begotten son". (John 3:16) The Word, who became Jesus Christ, is called the "first born of every creature" because he was created by his Father first. After that, the Word had the privilege of working with his father in creating everything else that has come into existence.

The relationship between God and the Word, who became the man Jesus, is not a mystery. Their relationship is exactly what the Bible calls it, a father to a son. A father and a son are two distinctly different individuals. A father does not have to share life; he chooses to share life. A father gives life to his son; a son receives life from his father. A father does not need a son to live. A son has no choice; he cannot exist without the father. A father teaches a son; a son does not teach his father. Therefore, the father is greater than the son in every way because he possesses the ultimate power to choose whether to share life or not to share life.

Even though God the Father and his Son may be one in the same in form, in the Words' case created a spirit by his Father who is a spirit, the Son will always be lesser because he owes his very existence to his Father. The Word had a beginning. God Almighty, who is the Word's Father, had no beginning. God the Father is greater in every way.

Religious leaders want you to believe the relationship between God the Father and the Word is a mystery, so they do not have to explain the unbiblical and confusing doctrine of the Trinity they promote. It is a fact, nowhere in the Bible will you find the term "God the Son". Finally, "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." (Mark 13:32) How can God not know what God knows? It does not make sense, and the truth always makes sense.
