Daniel's Great Image—the Feet and Toes
Daniel's prophecy of the Great Image in Daniel 2 is presently being fulfilled. When Daniel wrote his book, Babylon was the world power and was the golden head of the image. Medo-Persia overthrew Babylon to become the next world power--the breast and arms of silver. Greece conquered Medo Persia--the belly and thighs of brass. Greece was overtaken by Rome--the legs of iron. Next, Britain emerged from the world power of Rome, retaining the element of iron. Continuing, Daniel says, "And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided." It is a historical fact the United States emerged from Britain. The two countries at one time were divided, but over time became allied with one another. Britain and the United States are the feet and toes--"part potter's clay, and part iron." In time, the United States became the dominant of the two but remains allied with Britain.
